The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Botafogo MZRJ's Oséias Teixeira got a free kick in the 25th minute. Juvenal Cruz fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 35th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. Jon Ekgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodriguinho Viana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luiz Gustavo Simão's late challenge caught a Farsta BK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 48thth minute of the game Rodriguinho Viana who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Farsta BK's Jon Ekgren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

After 54 minutes, Oséias Teixeira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Botafogo MZRJ and the Farsta BK players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jon Ekgren was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but João Adolfo Valle showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 74 minute of play. Rodriguinho Viana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jon Ekgren having to interfere.
