With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marco Ramos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Meelis Haab made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodriguinho Viana in the 39th minute of play. In the 44th minute Rodriguinho Viana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Meelis Haab saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 48th minute, Rodriguinho Viana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Botafogo MZRJ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rodriguinho Viana was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute, Juvenal Cruz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Rodriguinho Viana put it in 6-0 from a short distance just to the right of Meelis Haab. Martti Roosna's late challenge caught a Botafogo MZRJ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Martti Roosna helped the player get up and apologised. Martti Roosna kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. After 96 minutes of play, Botafogo MZRJ's João Adolfo Valle made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Meelis Haab was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Botafogo MZRJ had won after a very even match.
