With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pawel Klejnowski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 19th minute, Bogumil Andrysiak reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Radomil Smolarek. The goal made the score 1-0. If Ziemowit Kaminski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of LIRA ELBLĄG SSA booed when FC Zarzyk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eugeniusz Kasperowicz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 43 minutes into the match, FC Zarzyk's goal looked a bit too open when Bogumil Andrysiak came free, but Radomil Smolarek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in LIRA ELBLĄG SSA's zone, Dariusz Hryc stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pawel Klejnowski came out of the goal and Dariusz Hryc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dariusz Hryc was the one to do the kick off. If Igor Pietras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th match minute, FC Zarzyk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miromir Mis to maneuver through the defense. Bogumil Andrysiak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Radomil Smolarek having to interfere. Radomil Smolarek dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After 73 played minutes FC Zarzyk got a freekick which was hit by Benedykt Zielinski. Olaf Kolbe hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Radomil Smolarek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Klement Banaszak in the 81st minute of the match. Bogumil Andrysiak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Bogumil Andrysiak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Radomil Smolarek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Klement Banaszak in the 94th minute of the match. Dariusz Hryc might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pawel Klejnowski. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dariusz Hryc ran back to his position shaking his head. FC Zarzyk's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
