Vallentuna Kickers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Botafogo MZRJ the free kick. Botafogo MZRJ's Férid Khalifa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mats Kellman in the 26th minute of play. When Josué Matos came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Botafogo MZRJ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Josué Matos couldn't finish the play. If Wágner Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wágner Queirós might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edgar Utter. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wágner Queirós ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Botafogo MZRJ booed when Vallentuna Kickers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mats Kellman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wágner Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Utter having to interfere. When Wágner Queirós came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Botafogo MZRJ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wágner Queirós couldn't finish the play. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 91 minutes into the match, Josué Matos notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Vallentuna Kickers's Edgar Utter. Edgar Utter was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
