In the 2nd match minute, Botafogo MZRJ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marquinhos das Neves to maneuver through the defense. With 5 minutes on the clock, Juvenal Camargo commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After a rather tough play, Botafogo MZRJ's Juvenal Camargo got a free kick in the 6th minute. Férid Khalifa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisc Onea in the 6th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the match, FC GURZUN's goal looked a bit too open when Josué Matos came free, but Cătălin Dăianu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The attack was good, but when Matías Brasil in the 17th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After a rather tough play, FC GURZUN's Costin Croitoru got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 19th minute, Matías Brasil got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Férid Khalifa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albert Finteșteanu in the 25th minute of play. The supporters of FC GURZUN booed when Botafogo MZRJ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josué Matos didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 32 played minutes Botafogo MZRJ got a freekick which was hit by Matías Brasil. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albert Finteșteanu in the 39th minute of play forced Botafogo MZRJ's goalkeeper Férid Khalifa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cătălin Dăianu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Matías Brasil in the 40th minute. After having played for 43 minutes, Matías Brasil managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Botafogo MZRJ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matías Brasil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Josué Matos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Botafogo MZRJ's supporters rose to their feet, but Josué Matos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cătălin Dăianu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Matías Brasil fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Botafogo MZRJ's protests and gave Matías Brasil a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of FC GURZUN booed when Botafogo MZRJ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matías Brasil didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Matías Brasil made a kick off. Marquinhos das Neves hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Josué Matos's late challenge caught a FC GURZUN's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Josué Matos helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of FC GURZUN booed when Botafogo MZRJ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josué Matos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gică Oros kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 64th minute, Costin Croitoru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Josué Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 72 minutes into the game, Marcu Cretan recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Férid Khalifa. Marcu Cretan showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Cătălin Dăianu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matías Brasil in the 76th minute of the match. Josué Matos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Cătălin Dăianu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute Matías Brasil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cătălin Dăianu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Matías Brasil in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cătălin Dăianu saved FC GURZUN from getting behind. After some careless play in the FC GURZUN defense, Matías Brasil kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cătălin Dăianu. The FC GURZUN fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cătălin Dăianu should have stopped the shot. Matías Brasil took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cătălin Dăianu. Cătălin Dăianu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1.
