The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 2nd minute, Kismi Tojedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sporting Buceo's supporters rose to their feet, but Kismi Tojedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Matias Taffarel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chico Valadares took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Angelo Carballal. Angelo Carballal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Washington Netto in the 14th minute of play forced Sporting Buceo's goalkeeper Angelo Carballal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chico Valadares scored 0-3 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Angelo Carballal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Sporting Buceo's Bartoleme Ceja got a free kick in the 18th minute. Chico Valadares struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Angelo Carballal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for . SC Manhattan .. 22 minutes into the game, Chico Valadares cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Angelo Carballal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 25th minute, Chico Valadares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 26th match minute, Sporting Buceo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bartoleme Ceja to maneuver through the defense. After 27 minutes of play, . SC Manhattan .'s Washington Netto made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Angelo Carballal was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 30 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Sporting Buceo! In the 31st minute, Pastor Pio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The . SC Manhattan . fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. Angelo Carballal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chico Valadares in the 38th minute of play. After 42 played minutes Sporting Buceo got a freekick which was hit by Xacintu Urruchua. After 45 minutes of play, . SC Manhattan .'s Pastor Pio made it 0-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Angelo Carballal was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-8 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Guido Arizabal to make the kick off. Angelo Carballal was a little too slow when Chico Valadares got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 51st minute. The score was now 0-9. Angelo Carballal made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Chico Valadares sent off a good shot on target. In the 65th minute, Washington Netto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The . SC Manhattan . fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-12. Pastor Pio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chico Valadares in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Angelo Carballal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 73rd minute, Chico Valadares ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Angelo Carballal was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-13. In the 76th match minute, Sporting Buceo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sagrario Yribarren to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Chico Valadares kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Angelo Carballal. That made the score 0-14 in the 77 minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as . SC Manhattan .'s Washington Netto slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Angelo Carballal. That made the score 0-16 after 83 minutes of play. . SC Manhattan .'s Pastor Pio got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 88 minutes, the score became 0-17 when Chico Valadares sped through Sporting Buceo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Angelo Carballal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chico Valadares in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Angelo Carballal prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
