When Matías Brasil came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Botafogo MZRJ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matías Brasil couldn't finish the play. In the 7th minute, Mats Kellman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 8 minutes into the game, Jörgen Fransson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vallentuna Kickers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Botafogo MZRJ the free kick. In the 8th match minute, Vallentuna Kickers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jörgen Fransson to maneuver through the defense. Tommy Bohlin hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. 20 minutes into the match, Matías Brasil had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edgar Utter. Vallentuna Kickers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Matías Brasil was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The supporters of Botafogo MZRJ booed when Vallentuna Kickers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michel Säv didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edgar Utter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matías Brasil in the 28th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Matías Brasil in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edgar Utter saved Vallentuna Kickers from getting behind. After having played for 36 minutes, Matías Brasil managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Botafogo MZRJ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matías Brasil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jörgen Fransson kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Josué Matos hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. The Vallentuna Kickers players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Botafogo MZRJ were winning 0-1.

With his leg Edgar Utter managed to avoid a goal in the 53rdth minute, when Botafogo MZRJ's Matías Brasil fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Edgar Utter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Josué Matos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edgar Utter was a little too slow when Matías Brasil got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 62nd minute. The score was now 0-2. Edgar Utter made an important save on a dangerous shot by Matías Brasil in the 66th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Vallentuna Kickers's zone, Josué Matos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgar Utter came out of the goal and Josué Matos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Matías Brasil's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edgar Utter read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. Cido Nóbrega struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Edgar Utter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Botafogo MZRJ. 85 minutes into the match, Vallentuna Kickers's goal looked a bit too open when Josué Matos came free, but Edgar Utter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Botafogo MZRJ were awarded a corner in the 87th minute after Vallentuna Kickers's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Osvaldo de Queirós took the corner. Osvaldo de Queirós made a great header on Botafogo MZRJ's corner, it was just that Vallentuna Kickers's Edgar Utter managed to reach the ball for a save. Murillo Loureiro struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Edgar Utter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Botafogo MZRJ. Botafogo MZRJ's Matías Brasil was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 92nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Josué Matos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Utter having to interfere.
