Hortêncio Figueiredo came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Always Ready's Frechoso Abellaneda. But to his dismay, Frechoso Abellaneda quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Frechoso Abellaneda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Always Ready booed when Penha Athletico Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tião Valle didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute of the match Lia Abad sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hortêncio Figueiredo skillfully saved the ball. Adelmo Pemjean made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Moreno in the 24th minute of play. A collision led to Penha Athletico Club getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Belmiro Veiga hit a great ball. Frechoso Abellaneda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xaven Abascal in the 28th minute of play forced Penha Athletico Club's goalkeeper Hortêncio Figueiredo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Cristian Moreno fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Penha Athletico Club's protests and gave Cristian Moreno a yellow card for diving instead. Always Ready's Ronaldo Abeita was substituted for Iraido Abecia. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

In the 56th minute of the match Penha Athletico Club got a corner. Always Ready's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Carlos Fernando Tróia ran over to the corner to take the kick. Hortêncio Figueiredo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Todor Abaunza in the 57th minute. Hortêncio Figueiredo made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Todor Abaunza sent off a good shot on target. Todor Abaunza who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Hortêncio Figueiredo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Always Ready's Todor Abaunza got a free kick in the 64th minute. Tião Valle lost his temper 67 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The supporters of Always Ready booed when Penha Athletico Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tião Valle didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 78th minute, Xaven Abascal made a precise shot to the right of Hortêncio Figueiredo. Penha Athletico Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. Hortêncio Figueiredo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Todor Abaunza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 84th minute, Xaven Abascal fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Hortêncio Figueiredo, passed just outside the right post. After 95 played minutes Penha Athletico Club got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Moreno. Hortêncio Figueiredo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xaven Abascal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match was over Always Ready could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Penha Athletico Club throughout the match.
