After 2 played minutes Belo Academy got a freekick which was hit by Teodoro Reis. Lu Hai Cheng was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 3rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 7 minutes into the match, Real Unión CF's goal looked a bit too open when Vágner Sergipano came free, but Demetrio Busillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Real Unión CF's Dominguez Muniz got a free kick in the 9th minute. If Vágner Sergipano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Augusto Eger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mihnea Berceanu in the 18th minute of the match. A collision led to Belo Academy getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Leopoldo Senna hit a great ball. The excitement rose when Real Unión CF's Lu Hai Cheng after 20 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Belo Academy's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 0-1. Vágner Sergipanos short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Demetrio Busillo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Vágner Sergipano might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Demetrio Busillo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vágner Sergipano ran back to his position shaking his head. Demetrio Busillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vágner Sergipano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Venerando Eguizabal hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Real Unión CF's Demetrio Busillo got control of the ball when Vágner Sergipano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Carlos Augusto Eger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ilazki Serrana in the 37th minute of play. Adhemar Munhoz charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adhemar Munhoz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 45th minute, Belo Academy's Vágner Sergipano ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Demetrio Busillo. Demetrio Busillo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vágner Sergipano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mihnea Berceanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Carlos Augusto Eger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 60th minute, Real Unión CF's Ilazki Serrana ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Carlos Augusto Eger. Carlos Augusto Eger yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. In the 65th minute Zosimo Villalaud shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Augusto Eger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute, Real Unión CF's Ilazki Serrana ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Carlos Augusto Eger. Carlos Augusto Eger yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. In the 70th minute, Real Unión CF's Zosimo Villalaud dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. Real Unión CF's Ilazki Serrana got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carlos Augusto Eger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mihnea Berceanu in the 77th minute of play. Carlos Augusto Eger came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Real Unión CF's Mihnea Berceanu. But to his dismay, Mihnea Berceanu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-7. When Vágner Sergipano fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Belo Academy's protests and gave Vágner Sergipano a yellow card for diving instead. In the 84th match minute, Belo Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vágner Sergipano to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Real Unión CF's Zosimo Villalaud slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Carlos Augusto Eger. That made the score 1-8 after 88 minutes of play. 94 minutes into the game, Venerando Eguizabal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Real Unión CF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Belo Academy the free kick. In the 94th minute, Venerando Eguizabal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Real Unión CF's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
