Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Caolán McTommy in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nils Schikaneder prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Caolán McTommy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nils Schikaneder was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. If Pearson McLian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Caolán McTommy might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nils Schikaneder. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Caolán McTommy ran back to his position shaking his head. Nils Schikaneder came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Limerick AFC's Aubrey Robinson. But to his dismay, Aubrey Robinson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. With 20 minutes on the clock, Hansi Huber commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 20 minutes into the game, one of Phönix Kickers:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 22nd minute there was a penalty for Limerick AFC. Barock McFrancise stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Nils Schikaneder. 0-2. Quinn McBjarton made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Jürgen Benedikt sent off a good shot on target. In the 31st minute, Gill Holt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Limerick AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Nils Schikaneder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pearson McLian in the 34th minute of play. Caolán McTommy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Barock McFrancise's late challenge caught a Phönix Kickers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Barock McFrancise helped the player get up and apologised. In the 39th match minute, Limerick AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barock McFrancise to maneuver through the defense. In the 40th match minute, Phönix Kickers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kevin Rybohl to maneuver through the defense. If Caolán McTommy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Limerick AFC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Aubrey Robinson hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pearson McLian in the 46th minute of play forced Phönix Kickers's goalkeeper Nils Schikaneder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Phönix Kickers getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Kevin Rybohl hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Caolán McTommy made the kick off in the second half. Dave Bleich made in the 58th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Werner Slesinski however managed to control. After a defensive mix-up in Phönix Kickers's zone, Pearson McLian stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nils Schikaneder came out of the goal and Pearson McLian tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 64th minute, Caolán McTommy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pearson McLian received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nils Schikaneder came out and tried to block the shot, but Pearson McLian slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 65th minute. Nils Schikaneder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pearson McLian in the 68th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the game, Pearson McLian recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nils Schikaneder. Pearson McLian showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-5. A collision led to Limerick AFC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Bivadas McCready hit a great ball. In the 81st minute Jürgen Benedikt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Quinn McBjarton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pearson McLian struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Nils Schikaneder didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Limerick AFC. Nils Schikaneder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pearson McLian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Caolán McTommy got free with Nils Schikaneder in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Caolán McTommy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Limerick AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Caolán McTommy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nils Schikaneder breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nils Schikaneder didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pearson McLian went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-6 was the resulting score. When the final whistle sounded Limerick AFC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Phönix Kickers.
