David Sampaio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baiscend Frankson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Limerick AFC's Baiscend Frankson in the 7th minute got a chance for a shot 7th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 12 minutes of play, Limerick AFC's Baiscend Frankson made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. David Sampaio was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the Limerick AFC defense, Toni Caetano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Quinn McBjarton. The Limerick AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Quinn McBjarton should have stopped the shot. David Sampaio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baiscend Frankson in the 23rd minute of the match. Miguel Canales's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Quinn McBjarton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Baiscend Frankson put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of David Sampaio. Petro de Luanda's David Sampaio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aubrey Robinson in the 31st minute of play. The supporters of Petro de Luanda booed when Limerick AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gill Holt didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th minute, Quim Dikaté got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With his leg Quinn McBjarton managed to avoid a goal in the 38thth minute, when Petro de Luanda's Toni Caetano fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 40 minutes into the match, Toni Caetano notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Limerick AFC's Quinn McBjarton. Quinn McBjarton was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Petro de Luanda getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Miguel Canales hit a great ball. Baiscend Frankson took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised David Sampaio. David Sampaio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-3.

The wind increased when Lopo Carvoeiro made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Limerick AFC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Gill Holt hit a great ball. In the 54th minute, Quim Dikaté sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Limerick AFC's Quinn McBjarton didn't even have to move. Petro de Luanda's David Sampaio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Petro de Luanda from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Toni Caetano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Petro de Luanda's supporters rose to their feet, but Toni Caetano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Quinn McBjarton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gill Holt kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Miguel Canales sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Limerick AFC's Quinn McBjarton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toni Caetano in the 78th minute of play. If Baiscend Frankson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Petro de Luanda's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Pearson McLian 85 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-6. In the 89th minute, Baiscend Frankson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. David Sampaio was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-7. In the 93rd match minute, Limerick AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gill Holt to maneuver through the defense. Limerick AFC's Quinn McBjarton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lopo Carvoeiro in the 95th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Petro de Luanda's Miguel Maurito got a free kick in the 96th minute. The Petro de Luanda supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Limerick AFC's performance. The match ended with a win for Limerick AFC.
