Jide Chuku was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 15 minutes into the match, Salto AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Samson Etoh Sharah came free, but Jonathan Socorro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 17 minutes into the game, Gervasio Mendebal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Salto AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tortugas the free kick. 18 minutes into the match, Tortugas's Olufemi Ononogbo broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Tortugas's defense didn't have a chance, in the 22nd minute, when Bernabe Garaona scored to the left of an out of position Jide Chuku, making the score, 2-0. Jide Chuku took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Apolo Eufrasio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tortugas's Zikoranachidimma Okorodudu quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ezequiel Aurre, made in the 41st minute of the game. After some careless play in the Salto AFC defense, Olufemi Ononogbo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Socorro. The Salto AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Socorro should have stopped the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Apolo Eufrasio to strike the kick off in the second half. Olufemi Ononogbo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Socorro having to interfere. Jide Chuku showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benicio Austin, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Tortugas's Jide Chuku played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Apolo Eufrasio in the 56th minute of play. The throw-in from Ezequiel Aurre in the 58th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Tortugas's Zikoranachidimma Okorodudu. Jonathan Socorro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samson Etoh Sharah, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Aldo Gutxi kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Samson Etoh Sharah blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Socorro having to make a save. If Ajulu Acholonu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Socorro made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Olufemi Ononogbo sent off a good shot on target. Jonathan Socorro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samson Etoh Sharah, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Tortugas's Zikoranachidimma Okorodudu managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Ezequiel Aurre in the 83 minute of the game. Ajulu Acholonu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Jonathan Socorro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There was no doubt that Salto AFC were the better team. Salto AFC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
