In the 16th minute Edmundo Basso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. George Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquin Jobo in the 19th minute of play. Gunnar Ekeroth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emil Turek having to interfere. George Buffon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Remo Gerber's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. George Buffon came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by PÉROLA CRISTAL - ES's Remo Gerber. But to his dismay, Remo Gerber quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. George Buffon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquin Jobo, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in PÉROLA CRISTAL - ES fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 81st minute. Penalty!
