Mikael Damm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerardo Abeitia in the 9th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 13 minutes, Mikael Damm successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 14th minute Lyon 69ers were awarded a corner. Slaveyko Grúbchev went to the cornerflag to take it. Gerardo Abeitia who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 17thth minute tested the skills of Mikael Damm when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 20th minute, Wendell Borges hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 25 minutes into the match, Youri Borderie notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Lyon 69ers's Guy Durant. Guy Durant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 30 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Lyon 69ers's Anatol Hönes fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mathias Lecanu got free with Mikael Damm in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Gerardo Abeitia came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Lyon 69ers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerardo Abeitia couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Youri Borderie in the 41st minute of play forced Lyon 69ers's goalkeeper Guy Durant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gerardo Abeitia received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mikael Damm came out and tried to block the shot, but Gerardo Abeitia slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 43rd minute. Guy Durant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Youri Borderie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Léopold Fraval stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Léopold Fraval dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Guy Durant, 1-3. Youri Borderie's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 55thth minute, Guy Durant skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. U.S.Normande's Mikael Damm played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anatol Hönes in the 58th minute of play. In the 61st minute Tom Beaune shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mikael Damm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wendell Borges hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Guy Durant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Léopold Fraval, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tom Beaune in the 68th minute of play forced U.S.Normande's goalkeeper Mikael Damm to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Youri Borderies short, quick shot in the 72ndth minute got Guy Durant to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Lyon 69ers made a substitution. Romaric Orsoni replaced Wendell Borges. If Mathias Lecanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mikael Damm came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Lyon 69ers's Anatol Hönes. But to his dismay, Anatol Hönes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Youri Borderie got free with Guy Durant in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lyon 69ers's defense didn't have a chance, in the 87th minute, when Youri Borderie scored to the left of an out of position Guy Durant, making the score, 2-4. Aurélien Mussard struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Guy Durant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U.S.Normande. Youri Borderie came free with the goalkeeper in the 94th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Guy Durant could save by the left post. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. U.S.Normande walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
