Qiu Zhi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anatol Hönes, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Guy Durant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomas Albaret in the 5th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mathias Lecanu got free with Qiu Zhi in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, SILMONT's Marcel Lemahieu got a free kick in the 21st minute. Eraldo Fantini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Qiu Zhi having to interfere. Qiu Zhi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tom Beaune in the 29th minute. Tom Beaune could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Qiu Zhi made a huge save. João Carlos Schmidt hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. In the 34th minute of the match Mathias Lecanu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Qiu Zhi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 36th minute Anatol Hönes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Qiu Zhi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mathias Lecanu got free with Qiu Zhi in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 43rd minute, Lyon 69ers's Anatol Hönes dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1.

The wind increased when Normando Fiúza made the kick off in the second half. Qiu Zhi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eraldo Fantini, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. 58 minutes into the game, Lyon 69ers's Anatol Hönes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Qiu Zhi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Normando Fiúza in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Guy Durant saved Lyon 69ers from getting behind. Thomas Albaret spun around in front of the goal 63 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Lyon 69ers's goal. In the 65th minute Anatol Hönes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Qiu Zhi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SILMONT's Fabian Caplain was substituted for Freddy Escudié. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
