The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nery Pumpido showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Nery Pumpido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricky Koppens in the 8th minute of the match. In the 10th minute, Sven-Edvin Jansson made a precise shot to the right of Gustavo Guimarães. Club Deportivo Águila's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Nery Pumpido made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Herminio Florinio sent off a good shot on target. Dário Diniz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Nery Pumpido made a huge save. Gustavo Guimarães stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sven-Edvin Jansson's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. With a little luck, GuateFortín's Nery Pumpido got control of the ball when Herminio Florinio tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 24 minutes, William Villanueva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GuateFortín's supporters crossed their fingers, but William Villanueva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. GuateFortín's Nery Pumpido proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save GuateFortín from getting a goal against them. In the 30th minute of the match, Herminio Florinio got a very nice opportunity to score, but Nery Pumpido was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Gustavo Guimarães was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. GuateFortín's Mario Gomez was substituted for Thierry Henry. Nery Pumpido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herminio Florinio in the 67th minute of the match. After 70 minutes of play, Club Deportivo Águila's Herminio Florinio made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nery Pumpido was left in no man's land by his defense there! Club Deportivo Águila's Ivan Viscarra was substituted for Herminio Florinio. The GuateFortín players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
