Nery Pumpido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tom-Lukas Queraria, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stanyo Búnkov during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 12th minute, Stanyo Búnkov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tom-Lukas Queraria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nery Pumpido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tom-Lukas Queraria in the 17th minute of the match. Tom-Lukas Queraria might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nery Pumpido. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tom-Lukas Queraria ran back to his position shaking his head. Tom-Lukas Queraria's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nery Pumpido read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. 29 minutes into the game, Angel Alvarenga threw the ball into play from the sideline. Flamengo de San Blás's Javier Bermudez quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Nery Pumpido made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tom-Lukas Queraria in the 35th minute of play. In the 36th minute of the match Flamengo de San Blás got a corner. GuateFortín's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rolando Henriguez ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Flamengo de San Blás's Guillermo Calderón to fire away a dangerous shot which Nery Pumpido despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sven-Edvin Jansson got free with Luis Castillero in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 40 minutes, Tom-Lukas Queraria made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. GuateFortín's Nery Pumpido tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Flamengo de San Blás's Totín Garcia De Paredes got a free kick in the 46th minute. Flamengo de San Blás's Luis Castillero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Flamengo de San Blás from getting a goal against them. 47 minutes into the match, Flamengo de San Blás's goalkeeper Luis Castillero had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sven-Edvin Jansson.

The wind increased when Thierry Henry made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of GuateFortín booed when Flamengo de San Blás was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Calderón didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gabriel Chavez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Nery Pumpido made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gabriel Chavez got free with Nery Pumpido in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Guillermo Calderón hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. 85 minutes into the match, Flamengo de San Blás's goal looked a bit too open when Thiago Almada came free, but Luis Castillero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 86 minutes into the game, William Villanueva cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Luis Castillero was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
