The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Real Madrid de Guatemala's Sílvio Luiz Goiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Máximo Perrone in the 7th minute of play. In the 9th minute Sven-Edvin Jansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio Luiz Goiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. GuateFortín's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Angel Alvarenga in the 10th minute. After taking down the ball on GuateFortín's corner Thierry Henry fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Sílvio Luiz Goiano quite easily take care of the ball. Sílvio Luiz Goiano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zico Zellier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sílvio Luiz Goiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Edvin Jansson in the 21st minute of play. Sven-Edvin Jansson might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sílvio Luiz Goiano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sven-Edvin Jansson ran back to his position shaking his head. Sílvio Luiz Goiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Edvin Jansson in the 26th minute of the match. Sílvio Luiz Goiano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angel Alvarenga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. GuateFortín's Sven-Edvin Jansson got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 37thth minute of the game Sven-Edvin Jansson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Real Madrid de Guatemala's Sílvio Luiz Goiano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 39 minutes into the game, Angel Alvarenga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Sílvio Luiz Goiano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 43rdth minute of the game Sven-Edvin Jansson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Real Madrid de Guatemala's Sílvio Luiz Goiano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Zico Zellier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Real Madrid de Guatemala's Sílvio Luiz Goiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Edvin Jansson in the 47th minute of play. The Real Madrid de Guatemala players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. GuateFortín were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Thierry Henry stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Real Madrid de Guatemala got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Torres. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zico Zellier got free with Sílvio Luiz Goiano in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. GuateFortín were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Real Madrid de Guatemala's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Angel Alvarenga took the corner. An unexpected shot in the 56th minute by Thierry Henry got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Zico Zellier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zico Zellier hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. GuateFortín's William Villanueva was substituted for Zico Zellier. The supporters of Real Madrid de Guatemala booed when GuateFortín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zico Zellier didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Real Madrid de Guatemala's Emiliano Anaya got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute, GuateFortín's Thierry Henry ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Sílvio Luiz Goiano. Sílvio Luiz Goiano yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. After 68 minutes of play, GuateFortín's Thierry Henry made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sílvio Luiz Goiano was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the Real Madrid de Guatemala defense, Thierry Henry kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sílvio Luiz Goiano. The Real Madrid de Guatemala fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sílvio Luiz Goiano should have stopped the shot. When GuateFortín's Thierry Henry in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Real Madrid de Guatemala's goalie prevented a goal. Real Madrid de Guatemala's Sílvio Luiz Goiano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Real Madrid de Guatemala from getting a goal against them. A collision led to GuateFortín getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Ivan Lozano hit a great ball. Thierry Henry scored 0-5 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sílvio Luiz Goiano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Thierry Henry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thierry Henry in the 87th minute of play forced Real Madrid de Guatemala's goalkeeper Sílvio Luiz Goiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Real Madrid de Guatemala getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Angel Botello hit a great ball. Sílvio Luiz Goiano was a little too slow when Thierry Henry got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 92nd minute. The score was now 0-6. GuateFortín played a much better game than Real Madrid de Guatemala and deserved their victory. The Real Madrid de Guatemala players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
