The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Clinton Caballero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in New England Minas's zone, Julio Hess stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Markusson came out of the goal and Julio Hess tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Charlie Bucket took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diogo Yurin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Cabezon in the 8th minute of play forced Brooklyn SC's goalkeeper Charlie Bucket to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. New England Minas's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Clinton Caballero in the 9th minute. Brooklyn SC's Charlie Bucket played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chris Cabezon in the 11th minute of play. With a little luck, New England Minas's Martin Markusson got control of the ball when Dráuzio Barral tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 21stth minute of the game Diogo Yurin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brooklyn SC's Charlie Bucket was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Julio Hess blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Martin Markusson having to make a save. Charlie Bucket made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fletcher Lund in the 24th minute of play. Martin Markusson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Douglas Pace in the 26th minute of play. Julio Hess received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Martin Markusson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julio Hess in the 34th minute of play forced New England Minas's goalkeeper Martin Markusson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Douglas Pace could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Martin Markusson made a huge save. Martin Markusson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dráuzio Barral in the 39th minute of the match. Martin Markusson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dráuzio Barral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Chris Cabezon made a kick off. New England Minas's Martin Markusson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Douglas Pace in the 56th minute of play. Diogo Yurin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brooklyn SC's Charlie Bucket proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Brooklyn SC from getting a goal against them. If Julio Hess had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diogo Yurin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Julio Hess scored 1-0 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Martin Markusson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Martin Markusson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dráuzio Barral, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. 71 minutes into the game, Jarod Hester was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. New England Minas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brooklyn SC the free kick. In the 71st match minute, New England Minas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jarod Hester to maneuver through the defense. Anderson Donatello hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dráuzio Barral in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Martin Markusson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 90 played minutes New England Minas got a freekick which was hit by Stewart Francis. The New England Minas players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
