After 6 minutes of play, New England Minas's Diogo Yurin made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reed Molina was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 9th minute Lane Martinez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Markusson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 15 minutes, Eddy Amos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ForestFire and the New England Minas players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, ForestFire's Eddy Amos got a free kick in the 15th minute. Reed Molina showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diogo Yurin in the 17th minute of the match. In the 18th minute, ForestFire's Lane Martinez dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. 29 minutes into the match, Lane Martinez dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Martin Markusson, 2-1. The supporters of New England Minas booed when ForestFire was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sal Chamberlain didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martin Markusson made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Lane Martinez sent off a good shot on target. Reed Molina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chris Cabezon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lane Martinez in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Martin Markusson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 42 minutes into the match, ForestFire's goal looked a bit too open when Chris Cabezon came free, but Reed Molina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Martin Markusson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Duncan Nichols, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. ForestFire's Edgardo Courtney pulled a muscle in his leg after 51 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Wilfredo Middleton fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored New England Minas's protests and gave Wilfredo Middleton a yellow card for diving instead. ForestFire's Curtis Hunter was substituted for Edgardo Courtney. Martin Markusson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeffrey Yoshioka in the 53rd minute of the match. Martin Markusson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lane Martinez, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Wilfredo Middleton hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Martin Markusson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duncan Nichols in the 68th minute of play. After a rather tough play, New England Minas's Chris Cabezon got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 73rd minute, Dallas Seymour hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Diogo Yurin in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Reed Molina saved ForestFire from getting behind. Martin Markusson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lane Martinez in the 79th minute of play. Martin Markusson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eddy Amos's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Martin Markusson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lane Martinez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 86 minutes into the game, Diogo Yurin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. New England Minas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ForestFire the free kick. Diogo Yurin hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. A collision led to ForestFire getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Duncan Nichols hit a great ball. In the 91st minute of the match Clinton Caballero shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Reed Molina showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the New England Minas players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for ForestFire.
