An unexpectedly hard shot by Duncan Nichols in the 3rd minute of play forced C. A. Independiente's goalkeeper Miguel Ángel Santoro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Miguel Ángel Santoro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Duncan Nichols, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. In the 4th minute, Phil Greene hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 6th minute, Jeffrey Yoshioka ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Miguel Ángel Santoro was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Conrad Carrington might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Reed Molina. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Conrad Carrington ran back to his position shaking his head. Reed Molina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Conrad Carrington, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. In the 13th minute Duncan Nichols shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Ángel Santoro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute Conrad Carrington shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reed Molina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. C. A. Independiente's Miguel Ángel Santoro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lane Martinez in the 24th minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, ForestFire's goal looked a bit too open when Rodney Urbina came free, but Reed Molina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 27 minutes of play, ForestFire's Jeffrey Yoshioka made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Miguel Ángel Santoro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Miguel Ángel Santoro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edgardo Courtney in the 33rd minute. 35 minutes into the match, ForestFire's goal looked a bit too open when Conrad Carrington came free, but Reed Molina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Gilbert Guzman came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the C. A. Independiente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilbert Guzman couldn't finish the play. Reed Molina showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Conrad Carrington in the 40th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Conrad Carrington in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Reed Molina saved ForestFire from getting behind. The corner led C. A. Independiente's Diego Cagna to fire away a dangerous shot which Reed Molina despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rodney Urbina to make the kick off. Conrad Carrington might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Reed Molina. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Conrad Carrington ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Conrad Carrington got free with Reed Molina in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Miguel Ángel Santoro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lamar Knapp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 56 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for ForestFire! Conrad Carrington blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Reed Molina having to make a save. In the 62nd minute, Pedro Monzón hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodney Urbina got free with Reed Molina in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Duncan Nichols's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Miguel Ángel Santoro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. C. A. Independiente's Miguel Ángel Santoro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lamar Knapp in the 69th minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Lamar Knapp in the 70th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by C. A. Independiente's Guy Becerra. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Russell Stinson during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 72 played minutes ForestFire got a freekick which was hit by Russell Stinson. In the 74th match minute, ForestFire was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eddy Amos to maneuver through the defense. Conrad Carrington's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 75thth minute, Reed Molina skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Duncan Nichols came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the ForestFire fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Duncan Nichols couldn't finish the play. Miguel Ángel Santoro didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when ForestFire's Lane Martinez shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-1 in the ordered_time% minute. ForestFire's Reed Molina proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save ForestFire from getting a goal against them. In the 84th match minute, C. A. Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wallace Whatley to maneuver through the defense. If Conrad Carrington had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 97 played minutes ForestFire got a freekick which was hit by Jeffrey Yoshioka. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. ForestFire fully deserved thier win.
