In the 4th minute Arquímedes Cesario shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvio Bazil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 8 minutes into the match, Lu Bin Yuan notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Martin Palermo F.C.'s Silvio Bazil. Silvio Bazil was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Arquímedes Cesario sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Los Delfines's Matías Patrone got control of the ball when Enrico Giammarino tried to sneak it across the goal line. Atilano Quinten scored 0-2 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Silvio Bazil, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ruperto Porfirio kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After 25 played minutes Martin Palermo F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Mateo Izquierdo. Matías Patrone didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Giovanni Arósio went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Martin Palermo F.C.'s Silvio Bazil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Atilano Quinten in the 33rd minute of play. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by Martin Palermo F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Arquímedes Cesario was slow to take the kick. During this time Los Delfines's players had a chance to rest. Arquímedes Cesario recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Los Delfines's Arquímedes Cesario in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Martin Palermo F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. Los Delfines were awarded a corner in the 47th minute after Martin Palermo F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Arquímedes Cesario took the corner. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guillermo Izquierdo was the one to do the kick off. 50 minutes into the match, Martin Palermo F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Arquímedes Cesario came free, but Silvio Bazil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Atilano Quinten got free with Silvio Bazil in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience thought a goal was coming when Raimundo Goyo got free with Silvio Bazil in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 75 played minutes Los Delfines got a freekick which was hit by Oscar Orzaize. Los Delfines made a substitution. Ambrosio Bartolome replaced Hilario Asteri. The supporters of Martin Palermo F.C. booed when Los Delfines was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oscar Orzaize didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 84 played minutes Martin Palermo F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Sebastián Izquierdo. Oliver Bierhoffs short, quick shot in the 87thth minute got Silvio Bazil to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Lu Bin Yuan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matías Patrone came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Martin Palermo F.C.'s Sebastián Izquierdo. But to his dismay, Sebastián Izquierdo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2.
