After 72 played minutes Karaboudjan got a freekick which was hit by Renato Pitta. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Yuri Teixeira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Karaboudjan's supporters rose to their feet, but Yuri Teixeira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Duarte Mendes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of AFC - Curitiba booed when Karaboudjan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kléberson Gomes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 97thth minute of the game Rômulo Negri who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Karaboudjan's Marcelinho Abraão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the final whistle sounded Karaboudjan left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than AFC - Curitiba.
