Coritiba City's Dorival Abreu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renato Augusto in the 6th minute of play. Dorival Abreu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Owsiak in the 7th minute of play. Dorival Abreu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lei Feng Yan in the 8th minute of the match. Aurelio Walme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augusto Freire, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Coritiba City's goal looked a bit too open when Lei Feng Yan came free, but Dorival Abreu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Coritiba City's Dorival Abreu got control of the ball when Lucio Siekkötter tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Coritiba City getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Cauan Cunha hit a great ball. Dorival Abreu was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Renato Augusto showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 28 minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Coritiba City's goalkeeper Dorival Abreu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Renato Augusto. In the 32nd minute Serginho Aguiar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelio Walme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Renato Augusto reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dorival Abreu. The goal made the score 3-0. Dorival Abreu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Owsiak's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Lei Feng Yan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Dorival Abreu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lucio Siekkötter could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Dorival Abreu made a huge save. In the 42nd minute, Hamílton Paiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lei Feng Yan in the 44th minute of play forced Coritiba City's goalkeeper Dorival Abreu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Coritiba City's Cauan Félix got a free kick in the 45th minute. In the 47th minute of the match, Lucio Siekkötter got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dorival Abreu was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Renato Augusto in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dorival Abreu saved Coritiba City from getting behind. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Lei Feng Yan in the 54th minute. After taking down the ball on S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's corner Lei Feng Yan fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dorival Abreu quite easily take care of the ball. Dorival Abreu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Owsiak in the 56th minute of play. In the 60th minute, Renato Augusto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The S.E.R. Caxias do Sul fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Bai Cheng Kang was substituted for Wellington Fonseca. After some careless play in the Coritiba City defense, Renato Augusto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dorival Abreu. The Coritiba City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dorival Abreu should have stopped the shot. In the 67th minute Lucio Siekkötter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dorival Abreu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Serginho Aguiar who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 70thth minute tested the skills of Aurelio Walme when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lucio Siekkötter in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dorival Abreu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dorival Abreu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renato Augusto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 83rd minute Renato Augusto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dorival Abreu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dorival Abreu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-0.
