Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arlindo Silveira to make the kick off. Coritiba City's Dorival Abreu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Coritiba City from getting a goal against them. Despite being the better team, Paraná Clube Brasil failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
