Rodriguinho Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mané Lara in the 27th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the game, Pinchas Man threw the ball into play from the sideline. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Vilhelm Skoog quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Rodriguinho Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mané Lara, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Deilmison van Basten stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rodriguinho Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mané Lara in the 53rd minute of play. The Joinville United - FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guilherme Catarinense should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurício Donatello in the 76th minute of play forced ATHLETICO PRaiano's goalkeeper Rodriguinho Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maurício Donatello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Guilherme Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denílson Magalhães, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute.
