The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Mestre GG's Enio Pinho got control of the ball when Téo Trancoso tried to sneak it across the goal line. Enio Pinho made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Horácio Lara sent off a good shot on target. Rodriguinho Carneiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Enio Pinho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Enio Pinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horácio Lara in the 12th minute of play. 13 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Palmeiras's Horácio Lara fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Váldson de Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amadeu Pombal, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Palmeiras's Váldson de Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amadeu Pombal in the 19th minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Leopoldo Barbosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Horácio Lara came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Palmeiras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Horácio Lara couldn't finish the play. Enio Pinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horácio Lara, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After a rather tough play, Mestre GG's Ciro Macedo got a free kick in the 27th minute. Horácio Lara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 28 minutes into the game, Horácio Lara was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palmeiras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mestre GG the free kick. In the 28th match minute, Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horácio Lara to maneuver through the defense. After 30 played minutes Mestre GG got a freekick which was hit by Isaltino Oliveira. Enio Pinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonso Paes, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Enio Pinho made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Perivaldo Maciel sent off a good shot on target. Enio Pinho came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Palmeiras's Perivaldo Maciel. But to his dismay, Perivaldo Maciel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Toninho Prestes hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. In the 40th minute, João Francisco Mota got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Váldson de Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hernani Lira in the 42nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Wilian Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mestre GG's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilian Fonseca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Váldson de Queirós breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Váldson de Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hernani Lira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Afonso Paes to strike the kick off in the second half. Palmeiras's Váldson de Queirós proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Palmeiras from getting a goal against them. 53 minutes into the match, Palmeiras's goal looked a bit too open when João Francisco Mota came free, but Váldson de Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60th minute Horácio Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enio Pinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Téo Trancoso fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palmeiras's protests and gave Téo Trancoso a yellow card for diving instead. Mestre GG's Enio Pinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso Paes in the 70th minute of play. In the 83rd match minute, Mestre GG was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Célio Munhoz to maneuver through the defense. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Palmeiras fully deserved thier win.
