The crowd rose to their feet as Castanheiro SC's Mauro Sarmento slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Léo Carioca. That made the score 1-0 after 11 minutes of play. In the 14th minute Mauro Sarmento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Léo Carioca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 16th minute, Chico Carneiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Doni Seco was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Léo Carioca made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcelo Eger in the 24th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Marcelo Eger kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Léo Carioca. That made the score 2-1 in the 28 minute of play. In the 31st minute Marcelo Eger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Léo Carioca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 39thth minute of the game Marcelo Eger who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Flamengo FSCMZ's Léo Carioca was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Marcelo Eger had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Léo Carioca. Flamengo FSCMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcelo Eger was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. In the 45th match minute, Flamengo FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Magno Freire to maneuver through the defense.

The Castanheiro SC fans' excitement grew in the 61st match minute when Castanheiro SC's Marco Bezerra looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Mauro Sarmento charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mauro Sarmento the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mauro Sarmento hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Flamengo FSCMZ's Léo Carioca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauro Sarmento in the 71st minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, Júnior Alagoano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Léo Carioca. Flamengo FSCMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Júnior Alagoano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-1. 80 minutes into the match, Flamengo FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Júnior Alagoano came free, but Léo Carioca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cláudio Koehler kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. 83 minutes into the game, Marcelo Eger cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-1. Léo Carioca was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 87th minute, Marcelo Eger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Marco Bezerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 91 minutes into the match, Mauro Sarmento had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Léo Carioca. Flamengo FSCMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mauro Sarmento was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 9-1. 94 minutes into the game, Serafim Cearense was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Castanheiro SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Flamengo FSCMZ the free kick. After 94 played minutes Castanheiro SC got a freekick which was hit by Serafim Cearense. There was no doubt that Castanheiro SC were the better team. Castanheiro SC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
