Mirza Olgunsoy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benson Beverley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Mestre GG fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. Mirza Olgunsoy came out of the goal and Boguslaw Makarewicz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Boguslaw Makarewicz couldn't finish the play. If Tansel Aydemir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mestre GG eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
