The supporters of Catugi FC booed when Juventudes Libertárias was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rubinho Loureiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Walmir Pombal got free with Mauro Eliazar in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Carlos Alberto Soares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mauro Eliazar was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. The Juventudes Libertárias fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1.

After a rather tough play, Juventudes Libertárias's Leonel Faria got a free kick in the 51st minute. After some careless play in the Juventudes Libertárias defense, Walmir Pombal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mauro Eliazar. The Juventudes Libertárias fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mauro Eliazar should have stopped the shot. Catugi FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
