Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Renato Augusto in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabrício Negri prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 39th minute Renato Augusto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabrício Negri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Lei Feng Yan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half S.E.R. Caxias do Sul were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Davi Lamonica stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes into the match, Dinamo Colorado's Davi Lamonica sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aurelio Walme narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Renato Augusto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Fabrício Negri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabrício Negri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lei Feng Yan in the 91st minute of play. When the final whistle sounded S.E.R. Caxias do Sul left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Dinamo Colorado.
