When the match clock showed 15 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Stig-Åke Mattsson sped through Papunhas EC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ismael Nazario Serre. After a defensive mix-up in Papunhas EC's zone, Benjamin de Lara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ismael Nazario Serre came out of the goal and Benjamin de Lara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stig-Åke Mattsson in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ismael Nazario Serre prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ismael Nazario Serre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stig-Åke Mattsson in the 25th minute of play. After 26 minutes Papunhas EC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lu Xun Lei who took care of the corner kick. Stig-Åke Mattsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ismael Nazario Serre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamin de Lara in the 39th minute of the match. In the 40th minute Inácio Matorin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laçın Cumayev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lu Xun Lei was slow to take the kick. During this time SC Braga's players had a chance to rest. The supporters of SC Braga booed when Papunhas EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Telmo Peres didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Papunhas EC's Fabrício Carneiro got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Laçın Cumayev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdemar de Moraes, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. SC Braga's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
