Lizardi Montanez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kev Hurtado in the 17th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Kev Hurtado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lizardi Montanez was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Deportivo ScrugenFC's Jose Boldu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Santotis in the 21st minute of play. Jose Boldu was a little too slow when Egoi Lizarazu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 26th minute. The score was now 1-0. Paul Trielles could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Jose Boldu made a huge save. 30 minutes into the game, Kev Hurtado cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Lizardi Montanez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jose Boldu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Egoi Lizarazu in the 33rd minute. Kev Hurtado might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lizardi Montanez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kev Hurtado ran back to his position shaking his head. Lizardi Montanez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Txindoki Ameda's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

If Lolo Moreno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kev Hurtado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lizardi Montanez having to interfere. Deportivo ScrugenFC's Zoil Pequeño was substituted for Kev Hurtado. A collision led to Sporting Chilcano getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Lalla Bernat hit a great ball. The supporters of Deportivo ScrugenFC booed when Sporting Chilcano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lalla Bernat didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 78th minute Zoil Pequeño shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lizardi Montanez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute, Zoil Pequeño got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
