Celso de Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zelipe Saucedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Urki Valdecañas in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Celso de Carvalho saved Alfonso Ugarte from getting behind. Celso de Carvalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zelipe Saucedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Club Deportivo Callao's zone, Níels Nesta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reynaldo Termiñon came out of the goal and Níels Nesta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Club Deportivo Callao's Loco Escajedo got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Reynaldo Termiñon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ubelteso Escandàn in the 29th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramiro Urtueta in the 31st minute of play forced Alfonso Ugarte's goalkeeper Celso de Carvalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfonso Ugarte's Gabrio Barzana couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 35th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Club Deportivo Callao. In the 37th minute, Honesto Idiaquez fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Reynaldo Termiñon, passed just outside the right post. Savier Lebron's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 40thth minute, Reynaldo Termiñon skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Zelipe Saucedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Savier Lebron to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Urki Valdecañas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celso de Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 57 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Callao's goal looked a bit too open when Savier Lebron came free, but Reynaldo Termiñon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Celso de Carvalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Loco Escajedo in the 59th minute of the match. Reynaldo Termiñon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Savier Lebron in the 64th minute of play. Savier Lebron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynaldo Termiñon having to interfere. Celso de Carvalho made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Urki Valdecañas sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Alfonso Ugarte's Ubelteso Escandàn got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 71st minute of the match Zelipe Saucedo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Celso de Carvalho skillfully saved the ball. Patxi Deaguero lost his temper 72 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The supporters of Club Deportivo Callao booed when Alfonso Ugarte was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patxi Deaguero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Celso de Carvalho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zelipe Saucedo in the 73rd minute.
