Ascencio Sotelo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After a rather tough play, Spor Las Huevas's Josué Pinheiro got a free kick in the 20th minute. Ascencio Sotelo stood somewhat misplaced when Gonzalo Benavente came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 26 minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Josué Pinheiro in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tomasz Galus saved RED STAR FC. from getting behind. Spor Las Huevas's Ascencio Sotelo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ademar Damião in the 30th minute of play. Tomasz Galus stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Josué Pinheiro's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. In the 39th minute Gonzalo Benavente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ascencio Sotelo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute, Bilbo Bermudez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Urtzi Zamorano came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Spor Las Huevas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Urtzi Zamorano couldn't finish the play.

Spor Las Huevas's Lartaun Riera was substituted for Maxin Ceberiche. Ascencio Sotelo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonzalo Benavente, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
