In the 5th minute, Sporting Cristal's Fernanco Peso ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ismael Vellito. Ismael Vellito yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Venancio Kepa in the 7th minute of play forced Sporting Cristal's goalkeeper Jon Iruegas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 11 minutes into the game, when Delfino Rosario put in a rough tackle. 11 minutes into the game, one of Sporting Cristal:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 13th minute, Mauro Boselli made a precise shot to the right of Jon Iruegas. Sporting Cristal's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Boselli in the 20th minute of play forced Sporting Cristal's goalkeeper Jon Iruegas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sporting Cristal's Jon Iruegas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brooks Willison in the 23rd minute of play. Mauro Boselli took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jon Iruegas. Jon Iruegas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Sporting Cristal's Jon Iruegas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Venancio Kepa in the 37th minute of play. After 37 minutes, Venancio Kepa made it 1-3 with a short kick to the right side. Sporting Cristal's Jon Iruegas tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The Sporting Cristal players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Shuspendemo were winning 1-3.

Shuspendemo's Réda Kolb was substituted for Mauro Boselli. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ronaldão Nogueira was the one to do the kick off. Mikolaj Biraga's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jon Iruegas firmly grabbed it by the left post. Shuspendemo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gaspar Ihazintu in the 56th minute. The corner ended in Mikolaj Biraga almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sporting Cristal's Jon Iruegas did a great save. A sloppy throw-in by Mihail Tihomirov in the 58th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Sporting Cristal's Ludomil Kolba. After 64 played minutes Shuspendemo got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Rivas. In the 69th match minute, Shuspendemo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucas Rivas to maneuver through the defense. If Venancio Kepa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sporting Cristal's Frank Tassotti was substituted for Tobias Larsson. In the 78th minute, Mihail Tihomirov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 79th minute, a hard, long distance shot from Gertjan De Ryck hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. Jon Iruegas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Réda Kolb, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. If Réda Kolb had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Shuspendemo eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
