Cleto Cordaro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rambo Ramírez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. After 8 minutes Colo-Colo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Adolfo Fidensio who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Adolfo Fidensio got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rambo Ramírez quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 10th match minute, Club El Progreso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ioan Cândea to maneuver through the defense. Rubén Martínez in the 20thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Benjamin Tino, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Rubén Martínez took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Benjamin Tino to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Indiana Jones in the 29th minute of play forced Colo-Colo's goalkeeper Rambo Ramírez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Club El Progreso getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Cleto Cordaro hit a great ball. Rubén Martínez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benjamin Tino having to make a save. 39 minutes into the match, Club El Progreso's goal looked a bit too open when Rubén Martínez came free, but Benjamin Tino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Colo-Colo's Rambo Ramírez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Indiana Jones in the 40th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Club El Progreso's Benjamin Tino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Honorio Droguett in the 55th minute of play. Honorio Droguett spun around in front of the goal 55 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Club El Progreso's goal. Benjamin Tino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rubén Martínez's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. The audience was convinced that Rubén Martínez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benjamin Tino was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. Rambo Ramírez made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Cleto Cordaro sent off a good shot on target. Club El Progreso were awarded a corner in the 60th minute after Colo-Colo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Adolfo Fidensio took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Ioan Cândea managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Rubén Martínez kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. In the 67th match minute, Colo-Colo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rubén Martínez to maneuver through the defense. Benjamin Tino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlitos Caszely, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. In the 71st minute Carlitos Caszely shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Tino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 74th minute of the match, Enzo Bot tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rambo Ramírez saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 79th minute Ivo Basay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Tino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rambo Ramírez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Indiana Jones in the 83rd minute of play. Benjamin Tino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivo Basay in the 87th minute of the match. In the 91st minute, Honorio Droguett made a precise shot to the right of Benjamin Tino. Club El Progreso's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1.
