With a little luck, Palermo's Alfredo Joey got control of the ball when Ştefan Frunză tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 24th minute, Pesqueira City's Benjamin da Fonseca ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Alfredo Joey. Ştefan Frunzăs short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got Alfredo Joey to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 30 minutes into the match, Palermo's goalkeeper Alfredo Joey had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ştefan Frunză. Benjamin da Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benjamin da Fonseca in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredo Joey prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maximino Gonzalez during the 39th minute. In the 96th minute Pesqueira City were awarded a corner. Ionuț Iniesta went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Ionuț Iniesta almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Palermo's Alfredo Joey did a great save. Palermo's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
