The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Victorino Francis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eloy Aznar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Victorino Francis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Ildefonso Arixo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 36thth minute, Victorino Francis skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Arnoldo Medina made the kick off in the second half. Esteban José Andrada came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Palermo's Arnoldo Medina. But to his dismay, Arnoldo Medina quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Arnoldo Medina struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Esteban José Andrada didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palermo. The audience thought a goal was coming when Santiago Mino got free with Esteban José Andrada in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 57 minutes into the match, Guansa's goal looked a bit too open when Arnoldo Medina came free, but Esteban José Andrada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 61st minute, Carles Borg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Guansa booed when Palermo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelino Chaime didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Anselmo Txilar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
