Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Caco Leite kicked off to start the match. Grentino FC's Falcão Sampaio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olavo Matorin in the 4th minute of play. In the 5th minute Montevideo were awarded a corner. Laerte Lucas went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Grentino FC's goalie and right to Christian Passos. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Grentino FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Ronaldo Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gualter Sampaio in the 8th minute of play. Montevideo's Ronaldo Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gualter Sampaio in the 11th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, Grentino FC's goal looked a bit too open when Olavo Matorin came free, but Falcão Sampaio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joaquin Xacintu in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ronaldo Medeiros saved Montevideo from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Olavo Matorin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Falcão Sampaio. That made the score 1-0 in the 23 minute of play. A collision led to Montevideo getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Bogdan Blănaru hit a great ball. In the 27th minute Gualter Sampaio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldo Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Grentino FC's Gualter Sampaio got a free kick in the 32nd minute. A collision led to Grentino FC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Joaquin Xacintu hit a great ball. After 40 played minutes Grentino FC got a freekick which was hit by Froilan Calvino. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Olavo Matorin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes, Laerte Lucas made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Grentino FC's Falcão Sampaio tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 55 minutes into the match, Grentino FC's goal looked a bit too open when Laerte Lucas came free, but Falcão Sampaio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronaldo Medeiros made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Gualter Sampaio sent off a good shot on target. Ronaldo Medeiros made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gualter Sampaio in the 64th minute. Ronaldo Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caco Leite in the 70th minute of play. Laerte Lucas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Falcão Sampaio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laerte Lucas, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Montevideo's Olavo Matorin got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 92 minutes of play, Montevideo's Laerte Lucas made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Falcão Sampaio was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 96 played minutes Grentino FC got a freekick which was hit by Froilan Calvino. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Montevideo fans cheered their team off the field, for while Grentino FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
