After taking down the ball on Criciúma Esporte Clube's corner Mehmet Emin Kamer fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Sérgio Trevisan quite easily take care of the ball. Evelio Antoniano made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Elivélton Aparecido sent off a good shot on target. When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Paulo Laurentzi sped through Cambridge Esporte Clube's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sérgio Trevisan. Jann Kaldur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaztea Regalado in the 85th minute of play forced Cambridge Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Sérgio Trevisan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute Criciúma Esporte Clube were awarded a corner. Gaztea Regalado went to the cornerflag to take it. Criciúma Esporte Clube's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
