The audience thought a goal was coming when Gafur Balkanlıoğlu got free with Telmo Madureira in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fernandez Gøl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raphael de Salles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12thth minute of the game Humberto Paes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but E.C. Água Santa's Fernandez Gøl was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 16th minute, E.C. Água Santa's Gafur Balkanlıoğlu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Telmo Madureira. Telmo Madureira yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Humberto Paes's late challenge caught a E.C. Água Santa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Humberto Paes helped the player get up and apologised. Humberto Paes hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Haroldo Sanches struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Fernandez Gøl didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for E.C 2 Janeiro RS. In the 28th minute, E.C. Água Santa's Gafur Balkanlıoğlu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Telmo Madureira. Telmo Madureira yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gafur Balkanlıoğlu in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Telmo Madureira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Gafur Balkanlıoğlu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Telmo Madureira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gafur Balkanlıoğlu in the 34th minute of the match. Gafur Balkanlıoğlu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Telmo Madureira having to make a save. Tostão Nunes made in the 38th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by E.C. Água Santa's Carlos Casemiro. The supporters of E.C. Água Santa booed when E.C 2 Janeiro RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tostão Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute, Carlos Casemiro sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Telmo Madureira didn't even have to move. Gafur Balkanlıoğlu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Telmo Madureira having to make a save. With a little luck, E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Telmo Madureira got control of the ball when Gafur Balkanlıoğlu tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 43 minutes, Carlos Casemiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. E.C. Água Santa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Casemiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gafur Balkanlıoğlu in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Telmo Madureira saved E.C 2 Janeiro RS from getting behind. Gafur Balkanlıoğlu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 47thth minute tested the skills of Telmo Madureira when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Gafur Balkanlıoğlu made the kick off in the second half. If Gafur Balkanlıoğlu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 51st minute Gafur Balkanlıoğlu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Telmo Madureira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 53 minutes into the match, Gafur Balkanlıoğlu notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Telmo Madureira. Telmo Madureira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 59th minute Carlos Casemiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Telmo Madureira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the E.C 2 Janeiro RS defense, Gafur Balkanlıoğlu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Telmo Madureira. The E.C 2 Janeiro RS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Telmo Madureira should have stopped the shot. Gafur Balkanlıoğlu might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Telmo Madureira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gafur Balkanlıoğlu ran back to his position shaking his head. Telmo Madureira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gafur Balkanlıoğlu, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 66th minute Gafur Balkanlıoğlu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Telmo Madureira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to E.C. Água Santa getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Otto Stenkvist hit a great ball. Carlos Casemiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Telmo Madureira having to interfere. Gafur Balkanlıoğlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Telmo Madureira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gafur Balkanlıoğlu, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Carlos Casemiro scored 5-0 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Telmo Madureira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. E.C. Água Santa's Frank da Rocha was substituted for Valdomiro Rosado. After 87 minutes, Fábio Coelho made it 6-0 with a short kick to the right side. E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Telmo Madureira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
