If Fábio Coelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Telmo Madureira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fábio Coelho in the 6th minute of play. Carlos Casemiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Telmo Madureira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fábio Coelho in the 8th minute of the match. Fábio Coelho might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Telmo Madureira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fábio Coelho ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 11th minute Fábio Coelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Telmo Madureira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the E.C 2 Janeiro RS defense, Fábio Coelho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Telmo Madureira. The E.C 2 Janeiro RS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Telmo Madureira should have stopped the shot. Fábio Coelho might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Telmo Madureira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fábio Coelho ran back to his position shaking his head. Carlos Casemiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Telmo Madureira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Casemiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fábio Coelho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Telmo Madureira having to make a save. In the 33rd minute Fábio Coelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Telmo Madureira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Pontes hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. If Fábio Coelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Fábio Coelho put it in 0-5 from a short distance just to the right of Telmo Madureira. After the first half E.C. Água Santa were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Haroldo Sanches was the one to do the kick off. Fábio Coelho might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Telmo Madureira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fábio Coelho ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 54th minute, Fábio Coelho made a precise shot to the right of Telmo Madureira. E.C 2 Janeiro RS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. In the 58th minute, Fábio Coelho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gualterio Gilabert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Telmo Madureira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gualterio Gilabert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Telmo Madureira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gualterio Gilabert in the 63rd minute. Gualterio Gilabert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Telmo Madureira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gualterio Gilabert, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Gualterio Gilabert blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Telmo Madureira having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gualterio Gilabert got free with Telmo Madureira in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Carlos Casemiro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Telmo Madureira. That made the score 0-8 in the 74 minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Gualterio Gilabert managed to get in a good position for a shot. E.C. Água Santa's supporters rose to their feet, but Gualterio Gilabert was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Telmo Madureira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A sloppy throw-in by João Francisco de Mendonça in the 81st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by E.C. Água Santa's Carlos Casemiro. Gualterio Gilabert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gualterio Gilabert might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Telmo Madureira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gualterio Gilabert ran back to his position shaking his head. Telmo Madureira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gualterio Gilabert in the 85th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Carlos Casemiro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Telmo Madureira. That made the score 0-9 in the 86 minute of play. In the 89th minute of the match, Carlos Casemiro tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Telmo Madureira saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Telmo Madureira made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Gualterio Gilabert sent off a good shot on target. Telmo Madureira was a little too slow when Carlos Casemiro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 93rd minute. The score was now 0-10. E.C. Água Santa played a much better game than E.C 2 Janeiro RS and deserved their victory. The E.C 2 Janeiro RS players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
