Zenon Zapolski hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Evelio Antoniano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldo Crispín in the 11th minute of play. Paulo Laurentzi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Tiago Godoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to São Paulo F.C. getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Yaya Sow hit a great ball. 19 minutes into the match, São Paulo F.C.'s goalkeeper Tiago Godoi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bieito Villaurreta. Paulo Laurentzi might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tiago Godoi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paulo Laurentzi ran back to his position shaking his head. Tiago Godoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Laurentzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute.
