After a rather tough play, Atletico Maturrango's Sindo Enterria got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Marcial Zuazna hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Weather Piedrahita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gordon Suarez in the 4th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Atletico Maturrango's goal looked a bit too open when Gordon Suarez came free, but Weather Piedrahita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute Florencio Herbella shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulin Sequeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulin Sequeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Florencio Herbella, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Vanadio F.C.'s Evaristo Gurruchaga managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Sindo Enterria in the 15 minute of the game. After 17 minutes of play, Atletico Maturrango's Florencio Herbella made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paulin Sequeiros was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 24 minutes, Maxin Oces mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vanadio F.C. and the Atletico Maturrango players grew even worse after the yellow card. Maxin Oces hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Gordon Suarez had several of the Atletico Maturrango's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 28 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Weather Piedrahita as he didn't even see the shot coming. Florencio Herbella might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulin Sequeiros. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Florencio Herbella ran back to his position shaking his head. Vanadio F.C.'s Paulin Sequeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florencio Herbella in the 33rd minute of play. 36 minutes into the game, Sindo Enterria threw the ball into play from the sideline. Vanadio F.C.'s Evaristo Gurruchaga quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 37th minute Gordon Suarez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Weather Piedrahita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Weather Piedrahita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gordon Suarez, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Florencio Herbella's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paulin Sequeiros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. In the 46th minute Vanadio F.C. were awarded a corner. Maxin Oces went to the cornerflag to take it. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

After 56 minutes, Evaristo Gurruchaga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vanadio F.C. and the Atletico Maturrango players grew even worse after the yellow card. Evaristo Gurruchaga kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Vanadio F.C.'s Leizarraga Olmedo was substituted for Evaristo Gurruchaga. A collision led to Vanadio F.C. getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Evaristo Gurruchaga hit a great ball. Weather Piedrahita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gordon Suarez in the 59th minute of the match. Florencio Herbella recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Weather Piedrahita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leizarraga Olmedo in the 67th minute of play. When Vanadio F.C.'s Gordon Suarez in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atletico Maturrango's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bekir Çağan in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Weather Piedrahita saved Atletico Maturrango from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Leizarraga Olmedo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Weather Piedrahita was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. When Vanadio F.C.'s Leizarraga Olmedo in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The audience was convinced that Ederono Ojero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paulin Sequeiros was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. Vanadio F.C. were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
