Stelian Murgu was slow to take the kick. During this time Playa Malvín's players had a chance to rest. After 11 played minutes Playa Malvín got a freekick which was hit by Gamus Rocha. Zé Roberto Teixeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grabiel Escorcia in the 12th minute of the match. If Stamen Tekeliev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 18th minute Stamen Tekeliev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juaneizu Merida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juaneizu Merida stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stamen Tekeliev's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. Juaneizu Merida made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Joel Wigghers sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grabiel Escorcia in the 29th minute of play forced Playa Malvín's goalkeeper Zé Roberto Teixeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 45 minutes, Jony Maidana mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nacional and the Playa Malvín players grew even worse after the yellow card. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Grabiel Escorcia made the kick off in the second half. Zé Roberto Teixeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Grabiel Escorcia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 60 minutes in the game Felipe Carballo did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Grabiel Escorcia. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stelian Murgu in the 72nd minute of play forced Nacional's goalkeeper Juaneizu Merida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute, Stamen Tekeliev got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Playa Malvín's Sandu Mândrilă was substituted for Joel Wigghers. Playa Malvín made a substitution. Josu Onez replaced Jabier Igual. Nacional's Walme Yurre was substituted for Mendiko Bueres. Playa Malvín's Quinto Ampudia was substituted for Stamen Tekeliev. Despite being the better team, Playa Malvín failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
