Los Delfines's Matías Patrone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pepito Santalla in the 3rd minute of play. Matías Patrone showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bartolo Nuno, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. 7 minutes into the match, Los Delfines's goal looked a bit too open when Bartolo Nuno came free, but Matías Patrone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Matías Patrone stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pepito Santalla's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. After a rather tough play, Boca Juniors's Isidoro Sotil got a free kick in the 17th minute. Primitivo Fernanco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lu Bin Yuan in the 30th minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Ladislao Bertran notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Los Delfines's Matías Patrone. Matías Patrone was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lu Bin Yuan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Primitivo Fernanco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Matías Patrone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ladislao Bertran in the 36th minute of the match. The Boca Juniors fans' excitement grew in the 38th match minute when Boca Juniors's Pepito Santalla looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Oliver Bierhoff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliver Bierhoff in the 45th minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Primitivo Fernanco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 45 minutes, Ladislao Bertran mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Boca Juniors and the Los Delfines players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ladislao Bertran hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The Los Delfines players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Boca Juniors were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bartolo Nuno stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Primitivo Fernanco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oliver Bierhoff in the 53rd minute of the match. 53 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Oliver Bierhoff came free, but Primitivo Fernanco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Los Delfines's Dani Cáceres got a free kick in the 54th minute. Los Delfines's Victor Jerrold was substituted for Oran Gutti. In the 80th minute, Maximo Bordat left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Boca Juniors fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. In the 83rd minute, Boca Juniors's Ladislao Bertran ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Matías Patrone. Matías Patrone yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-5. After 85 played minutes Los Delfines got a freekick which was hit by Hector Abadia. 86 minutes into the match, Los Delfines's goalkeeper Matías Patrone had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ladislao Bertran. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zachary Pliszka in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Primitivo Fernanco saved Boca Juniors from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximo Bordat in the 95th minute of play forced Los Delfines's goalkeeper Matías Patrone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Boca Juniors players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
