But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Paulo Guerra couldn't finish the play. Túlio de Toledo was a little too slow when Celsinho Vidal got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 28th minute. The score was now 1-0. After a rather tough play, Família Ressaca MZ's Simão Koehler got a free kick in the 30th minute. Túlio de Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raul Gonçalves in the 32nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fernando Maciel got free with Túlio de Toledo in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 36th minute, Seterma Tractors's Alexsandro Mineiro seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Alexsandro Mineiro the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Seterma Tractors protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Alexsandro Mineiro had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 37th minute, Alexsandro Mineiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Seterma Tractors's Túlio de Toledo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Seterma Tractors from getting a goal against them. Túlio de Toledo made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Guilherme Brito sent off a good shot on target. Fernando Maciel kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Raul Gonçalves stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Seterma Tractors defense, Raul Gonçalves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Túlio de Toledo. The Seterma Tractors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Túlio de Toledo should have stopped the shot. Túlio de Toledo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Raul Gonçalves went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. The supporters of Família Ressaca MZ booed when Seterma Tractors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hamílton Pitta didn't get a good kick on the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Paulo José Saraiva notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Família Ressaca MZ's Vitinho Fontes. Vitinho Fontes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Celsinho Vidal's late challenge caught a Seterma Tractors's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Celsinho Vidal helped the player get up and apologised. Celsinho Vidal hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. 73 minutes into the match, Família Ressaca MZ's goalkeeper Vitinho Fontes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by José Paulo Guerra. Vitinho Fontes was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Raul Gonçalves in the 90th minute of play forced Seterma Tractors's goalkeeper Túlio de Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celsinho Vidal kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Seterma Tractors's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
