Nilton Sanches took the corner. After 10 played minutes America Futebol Clube SP got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fábio Leme. After having played for 12 minutes, Hélder Almeida managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. America Futebol Clube SP's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hélder Almeida was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 13th minute of the match, Nilton Sanches got a very nice opportunity to score, but Doriva Simões was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Pedrinho Figueiredo kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Júnior Tinoco got a free kick in the 24th minute. Doriva Simões showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélder Almeida, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Nilton Sanches sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 32nd minute, Fabrício Miranda ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zé Pedro de Queirós was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 43 minutes into the game, Eduardo Duarte was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. America Futebol Clube SP's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nilton Sanches was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 47th minute, Paulão Berger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nilton Sanches stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute José Maria Macedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Pedro de Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. José Maria Macedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Pedro de Queirós having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 65 minutes, Zé Pedro de Queirós successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Eduardo Duarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabrício Miranda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Zé Pedro de Queirós made a huge save. Zé Pedro de Queirós stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fabrício Miranda's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Zé Pedro de Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabrício Miranda in the 79th minute of play. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind America Futebol Clube SP's goalkeeper Zé Pedro de Queirós, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pedrinho Figueiredo kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. In the 91st minute, Nilton Sanches got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 93 minutes into the match, Nilton Sanches notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Doriva Simões. Doriva Simões was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
