Octávio Moita came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by The Power Guido FC's Dráusio Gonçalves. But to his dismay, Dráusio Gonçalves quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 22 minutes into the match, Rui Breckenfeld notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of SC Braga's Octávio Moita. Octávio Moita was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Alexandrino Bessa kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Edmundo Prata, 26 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. When Hugo Pinheiro fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Braga's protests and gave Hugo Pinheiro a yellow card for diving instead. Álvaro Malheiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. With a left leg Octávio Moita saved SC Braga from getting behind. 35 minutes into the game, Rui Breckenfeld cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Octávio Moita was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Dráusio Gonçalves's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Octávio Moita was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. If Egídio Paixão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 44 minutes into the match, SC Braga's goal looked a bit too open when Rui Breckenfeld came free, but Octávio Moita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 45 minutes into the match, The Power Guido FC's goalkeeper Márcio Terra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Egídio Paixão. After the first half The Power Guido FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jesualdo Sacramento was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of The Power Guido FC booed when SC Braga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teófilo Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Power Guido FC made a substitution. João Carlos de Queiroz replaced Dráusio Gonçalves. Teófilo Azevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, The Power Guido FC's Edmundo Prata got a free kick in the 64th minute. Márcio Terra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Honorato Calado, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. SC Braga's defense didn't have a chance, in the 76th minute, when João Carlos de Queiroz scored to the left of an out of position Octávio Moita, making the score, 0-5. The Power Guido FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Braga the free kick. A collision led to The Power Guido FC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Miguel Alcântara hit a great ball. 96 minutes into the match, SC Braga's goalkeeper Octávio Moita had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by André Luiz Pontes.
